Parvathi Sivaraman
Parvathi was born and raised in south India. She hails from a family of educators starting with her mother. She currently lives with her two young daughters and husband.

She completed her PhD in Developmental Psychology from the National University of Singapore. She was one of the youngest recipients of the degree at age 28. Her thesis studied maternal disciplinary strategies in various conflict scenarios with young children. She knew early on that she wanted to be working with children and families.

Following her move to the United States in 2003, Parvathi has volunteered her time and expertise to various organizations in different parts of the country. Some of her roles included Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) member, Destination Imagination (DI) Team Manager, school PTA and operations volunteer at various cultural and performing art organizations in the area.

Parvathi has worked in different capacities at CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) in both California and Texas. She has seen firsthand the impact that just one consistent, involved adult can make in a child’s life. All it takes is one spark, one connection for the child’s life to be changed forever.

Parvathi brings her strong education, varied volunteer and work experiences to Education Unbound. The experience of living in different parts of the world have given her a keen understanding of human nature. Parvathi is eager to work towards equipping our underserved populations to succeed in a fast paced and ever changing world.
